Password Protect Folders using File Manager

Note: you can only protect folders (which protects all files within that folder) but cannot protect specific files.

Log in to your Control Panel and click on the FILE MANAGER button

• Click the  PROTECT  button on the bottom menu. Protect wizard page will show.

• On the Protect Wizard page click on the folder names to find the folder you wish to protect.  In this case, we will protect the 'members' folder.  We first click on the domain name folder which is test333333.com.

• When you find the folder you wish to protect, click on the folder button to the left of the name.  Remember, you can only protect entire folders, and not specific files.

• If you see this screen, click the 'create' button:

• Enter login and password to the protect file.

• When finished, click on the disk to save changes.

To create a protect file in the advanced mode (Linux plans only):

• Make sure that system settings has Protect Wizard start in advanced mode.

• Click the protect button in the top level menu. htaccess creation form appears.

• On the Protect Wizard screen follow the instruction of the online help.
